The Communications Department of the University of Nicosia will celebrate film making in Cyprus on Wednesday the 2nd of April at 7:00 p.m.  The upcoming screening will be in Cine Studio in association with the International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (ISFFC) and the Friends of Cinema Society.

The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus was launched in 2011 and is the official short films festival of Cyprus, organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus and the RIALTO Theatre. ISFFC aims to promote the art of cinema, presenting a variety of short films coming from Cyprus and around the world. Continue reading

One Billion Rising – UPCOMING!

Mediazone Volunteers consisting of staff, lab assistants and from our pool of casual volunteers were all at the Mall of Cyprus on Valentines Day for a very special cause!

1 Billion Rising  shares the message “Rise for justice” supporting women around the world.

Mediazone is working hard to produce the video that documented a coordinated effort in the form of dance! Stay tuned to watch it all here on our blog!

Pascal English School visits Mediazone!

On the 26th of February, 2014  at least 40 Pascal English school students visited Mediazone at the University of Nicosia for a three hour workshop/tour!!!

Dr. Costas Constandinides gave students a new perspective on how to watch films. Students were introduced to aspects of film theory.

Lyceum Kykkos B’ students visit Mediazone!

On the 28th of January, 2014 a group of 40 high school students with interest in the area of Media & Communication visited Mediazone at the University of Nicosia! The Head of Mediazone led them on a tour, and through the behind the scenes of making an advert!

They arrived at 9am and within an hour and half they got a unique tour of Mediazone, the world of media & our programmes with guest star – Dr. Mike Hajimichael! Continue reading
