My Relationship with Time Management!

Posted On March 18, 2026 By admin In Studio Assistants Blog /

When we were told to write a blog about a mistake we had made, I didn’t know what to write about because, over my time here with Mediazone, I had made so many small mistakes here and there and didn’t know which one to cover. But then I realized their common denominator …. time management! So, I’ve decided to tell you guys the mistakes I tend to make and how I’m fixing them.

I’ve always struggled with deadlines, both with Mediazone and academically. I tend to either overestimate the time I must complete them all and end up rushing last minute, or I realize the limited time I have and act inefficiently and yet again … rush last minute.

A method I’ve started using in situations when I have a project further in the future is adding multiple reminders and alarms for the upcoming 14-7 days beforehand (depending on the project). It helps me to remind myself and gives me time to begin working. For example, this blog was assigned to me in mid-October with a deadline at the end of November. Because this project doesn’t require a lot of time, I reminded myself a week beforehand to arrange my time well and complete it. Additionally, if I only have a limited time for a deadline, I start working on it as soon as possible, so I give myself a day or two extra to compensate for any mistakes, but, as I’m sure you do too, I try to avoid as many mistakes as possible. The way I attempt to avoid my mistakes is by making a handwritten list before I sit down to begin the project.

In this list:

  • I mention every tiny little detail to ensure I’m not leaving anything behind.
  • If during the process I realize I need to make an addition, I write it down immediately with a check box.
  • Once I’m finished with the project, I go through the list to ensure that I haven’t left anything behind (if you can’t tell – I don’t have the best memory).

Now you have Alex’s full proof plan to meet your deadlines mistake-free!
