I was a University of Nicosia Mediazone volunteer, and I am glad about that decision.
Mediazone is a place where I was reminded why I love the media industry.
When I joined, I immediately got two projects at once, and when I got down to the projects, I completely forgot about everything else. I only thought about how to film, how to edit, and what music to use, and I loved that.
Mediazone is a very good place where students are prepared for real everyday challenges and trained to improve their skills with each subsequent project. It is a place where experience and a creative outlook are formed and where personal growth takes place.
Behind impressive and challenging projects lies a small Mediazone family. I was impressed by the Mediazone atmosphere; it feels like a small family. Nothing is done alone, because everyone is ready to approach and help, express their opinion, and listen.

I would like to mention separately the staff of Mediazone. They were super open and understanding. I was surprised that each of them noticed my weaknesses in editing or filming skills, brought them to my attention, and helped me to improve them.
Mediazone can sometimes have a difficulty level, a learning curve and be an intense place where everyone is working on projects, but it’s an incredible and warm place because of the people who work there.
I am glad that I was there!
