“Stop! Cut! – Give me the camera – I mean the phone – I have to take this call!”

Posted On February 16, 2012 By admin In News /

Well – this wouldn’t actually happen because you would have taken the sim card out of your iphone 4 when shooting a film.

Director Park Chan-wook (shown above) can tell you all about that as he has completed his 30 minute film by shooting it entirely on an iphone 4. He still followed all of the classic film production steps, used the same professional equipment and lenses, all except for the camera.

Now there is no excuse. All budding filmmakers can have access to the tools necessary to turn their great ideas into great films. Gone are the days when expensive video cameras were the only choice. Sure you can make faces in different photo booth apps, and shoot video of your dog being chased by an rc car, but the smart phone has just become more than that. You have a choice – use it to shoot kids biting fingers or elevate it to independent film tool status.

What do you think about smart phones being film tools? Will it catch on?
