On the day I decided to test my iPhone 4s’s camera and video editing capabilities. The shooting went very smooth; I was amazed how easy it is to use iPhone as a camera. If you have a problem with steady hands you can use the items surrounding you to help you keep the camera steady. Also you can use some 3rd party APPs that help to minimize camera shake and give some cool effects while you are shooting. I used the normal camera APP of the iPhone and some shots are made using an APP called “Miniatures”. Because the Miniatures APP is a trial version it doesn’t allow you to shoot in HD. After shooting I used iMovie for iPhone to edit my video. I heard good things about iMovie and I decided to test it as well.
The good sides of this App are that you can do a pretty good semi-pro editing on the go. But I would like to see some more control than what iMovie is giving. The bad points are: Limited audio channels: you can have the original sound of the video one extra channel and one channel for effects only. You cannot control the volume in specific spots. Another bad point is the transitions between the videos. iMovie doesn’t give you any real options here. You either have or don’t have transitions. But overall I am satisfied with it, it allows you to do some nice work on the go in HD format.
As a conclusion I can say that iPhone 4s’s camera is very good and the video editing is very nice experience! You can shoot edit and upload to any popular website in HD format videos using only your mobile phone.
