Deep thoughts about how Mediazone shapes you, and how you can use it in the Future.

Posted On October 25, 2022 By admin In Studio Assistants Blog /  2

I have always heard about Mediazone from lecturers who kept talking about the “audiovisual” hub of the university, and when I was picking up equipment from Mediazone for my classes I wanted to know what they did.

Soon I was able to join Mediazone and entering Mediazone was a new space for me, a different environment that I didn’t know about. However, through the training I did in Mediazone I was able to learn a large amount of information in a short period of time making me comfortable with the equipment.

As I got more comfortable with the environment and things around me I understood through my small amount of time spent, that Mediazone was a tight knight group that respected creativity and individuality.

This led me to my first event with Mediazone and that was Music Vibes with other Studio Assistants. I was able to be a camera operator using the Sony FS5 and Panasonic GH5. At first it was a struggle but throughout the event I was able to overcome my struggle with the cameras and ended up getting quite a lot of good shots of people.

Working on shifts as new a Studio Assistant started off simple but there were some struggles I could not get past there was a time when it was around 6pm and there was no one around to help me, as it was my first day on shift all alone and I had called some Studio Assistant or help regarding a specific question of the disinfection of cameras and they told me what to do and they ended up coming after their class to make sure I was okay.

It has only been a short time that I’ve become a Studio Assistant. I’ve learned that the training never stops if you want to be the best in what you do. Mediazone has a lot to offer to me, from the opportunities given like Music Vibes, certification to finish every training, and promoting any work I create and still helping me find my standing even after I graduate.

In the future I want to use all of what I will learn from Mediazone by creating great quality videos, documentaries and photographs that tell a story and touch people’s hearts. As well as being able to form a good bond with any crew I work with in any production and keep a good reputation in the industry.
