The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is one of the biggest student associations in Europe. It started to operate on October 16th 1989 and was legally registered in 1990. The main goal of the association is to promote, support and develop student exchange.

How would you like to record the best quality video on the Sony Pd-170 camera?

The Sony Pd-170allows you to record in two different modes. There is the standard mode, the DV mode and the DVCAM mode. In the first the camera records more slowly, turning the heads slower, and allows you to use up your whole tape. A 60 minute tape will be 60 minutes – in terms of usable tape. In DVCAM mode the camera records faster,  turning the heads faster thus allowing you to record the maximum of only 40 minutes using a 60 minute tape. Continue reading

Buying a TV? LED was just a stepping stone, here comes the real revolution, OLED!

If you are in the market for a tv, then you should do two things. Wait, and save up some money. Okay, a lot of money!

LED televsions are going to enjoy a shorter stay then expected, as we move over to the next real staple of television viewing technology. It is not just the next evolution – but a revolution! When you compare LED & OLED the choice is obvious. OLED is lighter, plastic not glass, thinner (paper thin!), flexible, brighter, more responsive, has better contrast, more vibrant colors, deeper blacks, consumes less power, and has a larger field of view. But they are also a lot more sensitive to humidity and water, and don’t last as long. FameLab 2012

Famelab science competition was less about content, but more about the “WOW” of presentation. The University of Nicosia hosted the preliminaries in Cinestudio, while Mediazone produced the pre-recorded  “live to tape” video production which aired on CyBc.
