The film industry does not preclude the music video. These are in most cases short length films with a story to tell. They have their own distinctive thumb print, in all aspects of production but are subject to all of the same impacts of economy and culture. In the short documentary below you will be inspired by people who make music for a living, and in most cases at least try to.
Making a music video can be a daunting experience, but for most the sound advice to heed is just watch tons of music videos and start shooting. Make as many as you can, learning from each one, borrowing from others and ultimately expressing yourself in one of the most open ended and creative film making genres that have ever existed!

Again, the old saying along the lines of: ” you better love it because it isn’t easy” definitely applies. All of the film industry is like that. It is the willingness to subject ones self to the hundreds of hours of poring over material and editing; after 12 hour days of shooting, for the one little kernel of finished product that distinguishes the dedicated and talented from the weeds in the field.
Watch the video and forget about being a weed, get out there and shoot!
