The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is one of the biggest student associations in Europe. It started to operate on October 16th 1989 and was legally registered in 1990. The main goal of the association is to promote, support and develop student exchange.
At present, it serves more than 393 institutions from 36 countries and as time goes by these numbers are getting bigger and bigger.
Getting to know about different behaviors, cultures, lifestyles and coming in contact with students and people from all around the world is an incredible experience. Making new friendships, travelling, participating in activities and generally having a good time are by far the most important benefits that someone can gain by participating in the Erasmus exchange mobility.
I had the chance to be a part of this thrilling experience during the Spring semester of 2011. We are now in the middle of 2012 and just thinking of about that certain period of time, it gives me the chills. I spent a total of five months in the beautiful city of Vienna-Austria (1st city in quality of life worldwide) and one thing is for sure, they were the best five months of my life so far. The most important fact, out of all though, is that I still keep in contact with all my Erasmus friends from all around Europe and even Canada and we soon plan for a reunion somewhere in Europe.
So if you are a 1st, 2nd or 3rd (under certain circumstances) year student, do not miss this unique opportunity and get yourself an application form right away.
