What about e-learning?

Posted On June 1, 2012 By admin In Studio Assistants Blog /

With the advent of the internet, life has changed. People started using different kinds of communication and experiencing technology. Communication is one of the uses of the internet, but year after year, the internet has opened the door for all kinds of fields, jobs, thoughts and many things that nowadays are controlled in the virtual world. For example, banks are connected via the internet across the globe.

Before, people used books to get the information they were looking for, but now they can use the internet for that even if they want to read a book. Almost all the books can be found in PDF format on the virtual world.

I would like to talk about one of the fields that the internet has had a significant impact on; Education. Internet changed all methods and techniques used in Education, and even though it was mostly used by universities first, it has now expanded to First level of Education as well. Some universities even offer master or PhD degrees online in the virtual world.

The Question is, is that a good method or technique for Education?

Some courses are offered online, but what happens when they are specialized and needed to be explained as well as discussed upon? This would apply in majors such as Engineering, where all courses need explanation and the use of lab facilities.

In my opinion, it doesn’t make a difference for some courses if you’re in class or not; therefore those would be a good idea to be studied on the internet. When you think about e-learning, you might say it’s going to be cheaper; but it’s not true. I think it should be cheaper because you don’t go to class and you don’t use the facilities. Although, there are some universities that are in a very good condition and are offering e-courses in certain standard.

I think, it’s a good method and personally if I can take the course online then I will, but if I feel that certain courses need to be done in class then I will go to class. I prefer not to be in the class, though.

At the end, I’m suggesting that if you are thinking to take any course in virtual world, make sure that you check what’s required for the certain course and whether you need to go to the class or not.
