New Communications Department Concentration in Film and Creative Media Production!
Did you know that there are at least 3 Cypriot feature films created in Cyprus every year, screened at the Cyprus Film Days film festival, (Coming up this April 2016!), and numerous nation wide short films screened by the International short film festival of Cyprus.
Once again this past February we had the opportunity to screen these short films in Cinestudio / University of Nicosia which is always free and open to the public! Don’t miss it! Follow our Blog for more information – as this will be a yearly event!
Everyone in the Communications Department is very enthusiastic to offer something creative, new and exciting. Hidden inside all of us there is at least one good story, and at least one great story to tell!! The Communications Department is ready to give you the tools to make this happen! Students will have an opportunity to embark on a journey that will lead them to be the future Directors, Producers, Screenwriters, Cinematographers, Lighting and Sound Designers in Cyprus and abroad.
Dr. Costas Constandinides has taught film in the Department for a number of years. Currently courses being taught that are related to this concentration are: (Film – Introduction to Film studies, The theory and practice of digital film making).
Marios Stylianou is an industry related expert, Director / Producer, and an instructor in the Department currently teaching Digital Cinematography and Photography, and potentially many more courses as the program moves forward.
Additional Courses such as: (Digital Cinematography) which is already available as a courses this semester. Courses will be added in due time such as, (Film Directing, Documentary production).
For someone who has film making in their blood, this is a great start that can lead to a B.A Degree in Digital Communications and Mass Media with a specialization in Film, and Film making.
