Fresh Start: Mediazone. New people, new experiences, new lifestyle.

Posted On March 20, 2025 By admin In Studio Assistants Blog /

I always thought that the people who worked at Mediazone were professionals of the highest caliber, and to join their ranks, I believed I would need to master every piece of equipment inside and out. They seemed incredibly dedicated to their craft, and the work they did felt significant and inspiring. I aspired to be one of them, yet I constantly wondered if I was good enough to belong.

Eventually, I decided to take a step forward and apply for a volunteer position, thinking I was not ready for anything more demanding. However, before I could submit my application, I received a surprising call. She informed me that one of my professors had recommended me and that they wanted to interview me for a Studio Assistant position! I was both shocked and thrilled. That moment forced me to rethink my self-perception and abilities. The interview was a pivotal experience. It became clear that this role demanded absolute dedication, courage, and passion. This was not just any production job; as it was explained, “We are building a relationship with you, and we will expect the same from you.” This was not merely a position—it was a commitment to joining a team and contributing to a community with ambitious standards, a strong work ethic, and a shared pursuit of excellence. I decided I was ready to embrace the challenge.

Before becoming a full-fledged Studio Assistant, I had to go through the Studio Assistant in Training (SAT) phase. I was relieved to learn that the training would cover everything I needed to know and more. This assurance gave me the confidence and security to tackle the role head-on.

The training itself was transformative. I gained hands-on experience with cameras, tripods, microphones, and other technical equipment, alongside learning crucial aspects of the shooting process, customer service, and practical filming tips. Just as importantly, I met incredibly talented and friendly colleagues. Working alongside them has been nothing short of a pleasure. They have each taught me something valuable and have been a tremendous source of support.

In just three months at Mediazone, I have already participated in numerous projects, taking on roles such as Production Assistant, Camera Operator, and even Director and Editor for a project: the “Blood Drive.” These opportunities have been both challenging and rewarding. For instance, directing “Blood Drive” taught me how to lead a team under pressure while maintaining a creative vision. Each project has expanded my skill set and inspired me to aim higher. I know there is still so much more to learn and discover, and I am excited for what lies ahead. Being part of Mediazone has shown me the importance of teamwork, organization, and dedication in achieving shared goals. The behind-the-scenes production process has highlighted how vital it is to support one another and put in the effort needed to deliver outstanding results. While the work requires seriousness and focus, the experience has also been filled with countless funny and memorable moments that I will cherish for years to come.

The knowledge and skills I have gained at Mediazone are truly unique. Having the opportunity to learn so much and gain invaluable experience while still in university is an adventure I am deeply grateful for. I am eager to face the challenges ahead and take part in the fascinating projects that await me. This journey is only just beginning, and I cannot wait to see where it takes me.
