This time I’m going to write about my experience with mobile phones. I’m not the best person to talk about technology, so I’ll skip that part and just talk about the use of mobile phones.
I had one which was actually very cool. It was smaller than my palm and it had a touch screen and a very easy menu to use. It didn’t have any crazy or fancy applications and the battery lasted for almost 5 days. I ‘d always forget where I had put the charger.
Anyway, one nice summer day I left it in the car midday; and the result, as you can imagine, the phone got cooked. It was almost 45 degrees Celsius outside and I really don’t want to know what the temperature inside the car was. The phone “died” and it never turned on again. So I had to get a new one. Oh!! Guess what. I didn’t have any money at the time. My dad offered to give me his old one. Technology 2006, no color screen, no mp3, absolutely nothing. The things that it actually does: makes phone calls, sends text messages, has a calculator, alarm, and as a game it has one with a snake chasing some stuff – it was a hit back then!
I realized that expensive and fancy smart phones are just overrated. If I need to check my emails and do other stuff easily using the net, I can get a tablet which are not very expensive and are more convenient than a smart phone. My guess is that I am going to buy a new phone because my dad needs the ancient one back – he is kind of attached to it but I am definitely not going to spend a small fortune to buy a phone. I prefer to get something decent that can obviously make phone calls, send messages, has a calendar and of course the battery doesn’t die within a few hours. Oh I forgot the mp3 – I cannot live without my music. Later on, I may get a tablet as well; but still the money I will spend for both of these items are much less than buying a good smart phone.
