In early June of 2012 Mediazone went to war. Well not really. We attended http://www.battlefieldlivecyprus.com/ laser tag battle simulation. It was a really hot day, but we were full of energy about turning what most of us see in video games into reality.
Our teams were divided and we took to arms. The guns and gear were pretty realistic as were the outfits. Some of the planned events were a little restrictive but overall it was a terrific experience.
None of the above was as important as getting together outside the workplace and letting your guard down, (plus or minus the gunsJ). We worked together to formulate strategies and supported each other with words of encouragement. The idea of friends & co workers is not novel, but often overlooked.
The point of it all was to ask each other about the future and discuss the past. It was about seeing everyone outside the rush of work and getting reacquainted. We talked about work related, personal and other matters but more importantly we were a team. We were a team when we won and when we failed, and we were a team when we said “see you in the fall”; and we will be a team when we return, and the semester begins again in Mediazone.
