Mediazone Video Workshop for American Academy

Posted On July 12, 2012 By admin In News /

On July the 5th , Mediazone, University of Nicosia collaborated with the Admissions Department to bring together an unforgettable audio / visual experience to students of the American Academy school.

The day started at 10am with a visit to Cinestudio where they watched a presentation by Dr. Costas Constandinides about movies and how directors use motifs throughout a movie. He followed up on information about the Communications Department. The students received the Grand Tour of Mediazone. They went to Digital Lab in order to explore the power of the AVID program and the mechanics of such programs for movie making. They were so interested and surprised when they realized how many people and how much time is needed in order to produce a movie and finally see it in its final form.  Later we showed them the TV studio and Control room of Mediazone and the Senior Officer, J.I explained to them how a live show is produced. Later that day they were separated into 6 groups and they discussed public service announcement topics in order to start shooting their videos. They made their short videos and seemed really excited.  They were asking how to make the video look better, how to improve the sound etc. Always inquisitive, drowning in knowledge & creativity.  It’s great seeing young people so thirsty to learn… Unfortunately the day had to finish.. they looked a little sad, I suppose they wanted more… Always leave them with wanting more, that’s the secret…

And here comes session 2 on  July the 26th ! Looking forward to finishing the job!!!
