TEDx Nicosia 2013

Posted On March 5, 2013 By admin In News /

You don’t have to go far to be inspired and educated when you have an upcoming  Tedx event. Once again this year Tedx Nicosia  2013 gears up for another incredible journey with guest speakers coming from a variety of disciplines and perspectives. If you were one of the few fortunate people to get a ticket and be there live at the event – you are in for a real treat!

Watch it live on the internet!

The event will also be streaming live on the internet.

unMediazone, University of Nicosia is thrilled to be collaborating with TEDx Nicosia as major partners for the second year in a row,  to undertake the entire “live to tape”, video production & post production end of the event. Mediazone staff (J.I – Director & E.S – Broadcast Engineer & IT), freelance crew  and volunteers will be there, at Pallas Theatre,  to cover the event on Saturday March 9th. Mediazone staff have both the technical expertise and the experience to successfully capture live events on video, and Ted talks are some of the most prolific and entertaining worldwide!

This Sunday the 3rd of March all Mediazone staff, crew and volunteers were all out in full force. Mediazone Lab assistants as well as volunteers including students from our Communications Dept. Masters program all worked together with technical collaborators and the event organizers to set up for rehearsals, both technical and for the speakers. It was a flurry of activity as set, lighting, audio camera angles and settings were just a few aspects that required attention.

It may seem like all “lights camera action” on the day of the event, but the behind scenes was a flurry of activity, logistics and creative know how! In any case – all events, tv or film are supposed to be that way anyway. Seamless, flawless, just pure entertainment. When you’re watching your favourite LOTR films, its not like you’re thinking, ” I wonder how many helicopters and cameras it took to shoot that battle scene, with those almost 1000 actors…..”.

Just so you know, someone did think about it!

SNEAK PEAK!! – MORE TO COME!! WE WILL KEEP YOU POSTED!!
