Ted Talks have gained world wide recognition, but the production standards are still relatively general. There is not a lot of pressure placed on the Curator of each city to produce an all out impressive recording. The requested standards are pretty basic in order to give opportunities for a variety of approaches. Mediazone currently has three Tedx productions under their belt. Mediazone handles all aspects of production, producing, directing the live show and editing it into a final piece of video.
Production value is extremely important as it dictates the final product, what the viewer sees, even after the live show / broadcast. The calibre, the format, the colouring, shot composition – everything is considered part of the standards. Not all cities are alike. If you watch a lot of Tedx you will begin to understand that poor production values lead to distractions, even from the best speakers.
Mediazone started many months in advance to accomplish our mission!
Pre production includes: Meetings/budgets / ideas / layout / staging / crew organization / production meetings / set up and testing of equipment / rehearsals.
Production includes: The live show and all that it encompasses / directing / and countless hours of creative camera work / troubleshooting.
Post production includes: Trimming and editing / name graphics / audio mastering / color correcting / general grading / exporting / compressing the videos for the internet.
Mediazone had all of its staff, lab assistants and volunteers working in tandem to create these wonderful moments. From the Opening animated Graphics – Marios Tziakouris; to our technical set-up and support E.S; as well as all of the Direction.
Our attention to detail, production values / standards are contributing factors to a world wide event phenomenon that means to bring people together and share ideas. From start to finish, Mediazone is proud to be part of the first University of Nicosia Tedx and would like to share those moments with you.
